There is an important clue to the history of ballet - the language! All terms are French ballet - with good reason, for the ballet really began at the court of Louis XIV

She dances in Europe since 1400. But a fan of modern dance shows this to see if it could, one hardly call it ballet - the dancers do not do much more than in March and arrows. However, if our audience of 21 Century recognize some of the steps.

TheOut-turn and arm positions of ballet training developed by courtly combat - a fencer of "En Garde" and you can see, the feet are in fourth place, and a curved arm in the fifth picture. Each courtier trained as a sword fighter, then could dance every courtier.

It 'was the court of Louis XIV, which reaches its climax ballets. Louis loved to dance and his enthusiasm was reflected by his court (as one would expect if the courtiers knew what was good forthem!).

But what really set the ballet was in the street, when Louis founded a Royal Academy of Dancing, followed in 1669 by the founding of the Paris Opera House. From here, dancing master fanned out to all the European courts. Royalty across Europe founded their own theater - but all the dancers used the same techniques taught by the Masters in Paris. Which meant, they described theStart with the words used their French teacher - a practice that continues today.

Over the next 200 years, the ballet turns. Costumes are now lighter, more complicated Jetes steps and spins were discovered. Marie Taglioni danced on pointe, and created our vision of ballet dancer - her dark hair a node is involved in hair, romantic tutu is his custom.

By the end of 1800 the ballet was, however, go off the rails. It 'wasmore importantly, to overcome your rivals acrobatic tricks of an artist. Worse, ballet was gaining a bad reputation. To give you an idea of the word "Tutu" is derived from a rude French word for women's lower regions, and the rich pay a premium for the first row of the orchestra - to appreciate the performance, but they Were Able to watch the dancers' skirts. Many of the dancers (who were all females used in this moment, as all the male roles were filled by women) to theirAdmirers generosity '!

Fortunately, things were not so bad in Russia, and Russia were the dancers, the art was serious new ballet. They were the true beginnings of modern dance - the star of the Diaghilev Ballet.
